We have a smallholding and need a generator. After lots of searching around I had the chance to see a Kipor in action and decided to purchase one. Finally decided on a diesel 6700 as this gives around 5kva (roughly 4kw). Martyn was great and easy to get on with. Hello Martyn and Tracy, I would like to say a big thankyou to you both for the help you gave when I arrived at your unit, unannounced, late Friday teatime, following the breakdown of my generator. You went to great lengths to enable the immediate repair of the generator, which I have owned for about 3 years now and was desperately needed, in order to facilitate the charging of our caravan battery whilst on a weekend break with my family. The generator is a must when you are stuck in a field with no electric and lights are required from 4pm onwards at this time of year.

This might put people off buying a IG2000

.As it does state there is overload protection built in the inverter board to prevent overloding the genny…

For example a small 650watt power drill used on an IG2000 would probably blow the main module board…..Ouch, expensive repair job. Now this would of happened because the drill may only be 650watts but need probably 2.5 times that……..

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your comment, I dont mean to put people off The IG2000 its just that people need to be aware of power surges in certain equipment and not to rely on the “built in overload protection” which is only any good if you gradually get to the “danger zone” so to speak. It is that delicate it cannot pick up a sudden overload, therefore it blows the board. I would rather not sell a generator if I thought the customer was going to overload. Its just not worth it.
